My Background

I am an English and writing tutor who is passionate about making learning fun and easy! There are many students who do not thrive learning solely from a textbook. Many students are visual or hands-on learners. This is why I believe in adjusting my teaching style to match the student's learning style.

Throughout my time in grade school, I struggled learning due to the restrictions of individuality within the classroom setting. In addition, as a child, I was diagnosed with autism, ADHD, and minor dyslexia. I did not thrive in a learning environment when you were handed a textbook and then given a quiz to test your knowledge. While reading and quizzes/tests are important and necessary,  I needed additional verbal and hands-on instruction for my brain to fully grasp the information.  I had teachers who did not adapt to my learning style and in grade school, I learned to dislike learning. 

 

 I have experience working as a Special Education Teacher's Aid within the school district and I have previous private teaching experience. I have been teaching music privately since January of 2020 and started my tutoring business in 2025.

I use different methods in my teaching practices such as flashcards, drawing exercises, games, and interacting activities to make learning fun and interesting!
